Queddeng, Joanna Paula S. This study was conducted to develop an Information, Education, Communication (IEC) Program for Kangaroo Mother Care foundation (KMCF). KMCF is an organization that advocates Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) a natural nurturing technique for premature and low birth weight babies. Target adopters ok KMC have always associated the method to the Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital, thereby perpetuating a myth that KMC is exclusive to Fabella. On account of the myth, KMCF has not been recognized as an organization that can teach the KMC procedure and set up KMC sites audiences have thought that since the method is exclusive to Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital, only this institution can educate them to administer the KMC method. Through methods as interviewing, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and client intercept interviewing, the researchers found ways to introduce KMCF to audiences composed of hospital administrators, medical practitioners (doctors, nurses, midwives), and mothers. Results revealed key messages that audiences want to hear about KMCF and KMC, along with the media they want to be accessed with. Hospital administrators want to learn about economic and protocol issues of setting up KMC sites through lectures and the internet. Medical practitioners (doctors, nurses, midwives), want to hear information on the duration and monitoring scheme of the program through the internet, television, and newspaper. Mothers want to be informed about the health benefits of KMC to babies and the connection between the KMC heat regulation process to babies and the connection between the KMC heat regulation process to babies rapid weight again. Mothers want to learn about KMC and KMCF through face to face conversation with doctors, television, brochures, and flyers. This study contains a strategy section for the Foundation, and prototype materials with IEC Program evaluation tools. 2011-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/10875 Bachelor's Theses Animo Repository
