Reyes, Katrina S. This thesis used the 2000 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) and the 2003 National Nutrition survey for Anthropometry in producing reliable estimates of malnutrition rate at the barangay level in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) using small area estimation techniques specifically direct, regression synthetic and EBLUP estimation. Three predictors for formulation rate at the barangay level were identified in the regression synthetic procedure. The proportion of married household heads in the barangays, proportion of household heads in the barangay with no grade completed and proportion of household heads in the barangay with 5th Year College as the highest education were the three predictors likewise used in EBLUP estimation procedure. Results showed that, generally, the EBLUP estimation procedure provided more precise and reliable estimates since the standard error and the coefficient of variation produced using this method were lower and were at acceptable values than those obtained using direct estimation and regression synthetic estimation procedures. 2010-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/10912 Bachelor's Theses Animo Repository
