We often hear stories of gay people coming out to their family/friends, but we rarely hear them talk about the changes that happened after coming out. This study aims to know the personal emotional changes of pa-girl gays after coming out to their families/friends. The researchers gathered four (4) Filipino gay participants who had experienced coming out, and four (4) corresponding family member/friend through purposive sampling. After selecting participants, they were interviewed in a quiet area, and the interview itself was recorded using a cellphone recorder. Once the interviews were finished they were then transcribed. To analyse the interviews, the researchers used narrative analysis. Using narrative analysis, the researchers extracted and found similar structure, tone, and theme that the participants' narratives had. The narrative analysis showed that a progressive structure, an optimistic tone, and a communal theme are found throughout the course of the study. This study can help understand the coming out process more, thus it will never be taken as lightly as it used to be.
