Romero, Yasmin Angel M. Sarmiento, Alexis Marie T. In the changing times, the structure of a family has evolved into a structure wherein the father stays at home to become the primary caregiver while the mother becomes the primary breadwinner. This research aimed to look into the experiences, perceptions regarding their role and relationship with their son of stay-at-home fathers by using an interpretative phenomenology analysis. The researchers conducted a semi-structured interview in order to capture an in-depth understanding of the research problems presented. The results show that the stay-at-home fathers experienced having multiple roles and a feeling of satisfaction towards their role. It also shows that the stay-at-home fathers see themselves as financial providers and nurturance providers. Lastly, the stay-at-home fathers involved themselves in their son"s life by setting expectations and teaching them values and household work. The stay-at-home fathers also became close with their sons by openly communicating with them and spending quality time through bonding activities. 2015-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11016 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Househusbands--Family relationships Stay-at-home fathers Psychology |
