Development of a reinforced concrete beam application under seismic loads for the android tablet
In the field of engineering, manually designing a reinforced concrete beam is considered to be a tasking effort which consumes a lot of time. Trough technology, several programs and applications have been made to aid in these designs. Tablets which are smaller but similarly powerful computers have b...

Trough technology, several programs and applications have been made to aid in these designs. Tablets which are smaller but similarly powerful computers have been made and is employed in various fields for both educational and industry purposes. With this in mind, a study was made to take advantage of the tablets popularity and capabilities, and employ this technology in the field of engineering for field use. This study aims to develop a program for the android tablet that is capable of performing design of a beam considering seismic provisions with moments and shear inputted by the user. And through the use of GameSalad Creator, learning complex languages like Android is unnecessary due to its drag and drop interface. The program made aims to utilize the touch features of the tablet, lessen the numeral inputs, and to develop an easy to use graphical user interface. The program was then tested by licensed professional civil engineers within the Philippines and was rated in terms of its graphical user interface, its functionality, touch screen features, and portability. It was proven through the survey results that the program was user friendly and useful for engineers in the office and the field. 2014-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11023 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Reinforced concrete construction Concrete beams --Testing Civil Engineering |

In the field of engineering, manually designing a reinforced concrete beam is considered to be a tasking effort which consumes a lot of time. Trough technology, several programs and applications have been made to aid in these designs.
Tablets which are smaller but similarly powerful computers have been made and is employed in various fields for both educational and industry purposes. With this in mind, a study was made to take advantage of the tablets popularity and capabilities, and employ this technology in the field of engineering for field use.
