Macasaet, Carmella Veronica R. In the Philippines, a lot of children have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder but are not aware. It is not common in our culture to have children diagnosed when they show symptoms of it. Parents are often left to handle the severity of children's behavior not knowing anything. In this study the researchers aim to get a grasp of the experience of parents with children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The way parents cope and handle their children being diagnosed with ADHD is very important because of the impact it has with the children. It is not new knowledge to hear that parents are often the most influential and important people in a child's life. This study aims to understand the relationship parents have with their child diagnosed with ADHD. Also, how parents cope given different challenges. In this study, the researchers interviewed ten parents - five moms, and five dads, whom are all married and have a child diagnosed with ADHD that are 9 years old to 14 years old respectively. Each parent was interviewed individually and asked nine questions that aim to define their relationship with their child, their parenting style, and how parents cope. 2015-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11029 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder Hyperactive children--Family relationships.
