In this study, we aim to explore the relationship between child abuse and its effects on the growth, emotional and psychological development of young adolescents. With this, we will relate it to how young adolescents can develop tendencies to form psychological disorders and mental impairments and find its correlation to tendencies such as heightened emotions, aggressive and violent behavior. The group shall then find the relation of these to family homicides. In our short feature, Jeremy Cruz, an abused 19-year-old student from Ateneo, is driven to commit parricide when his unhealthy relationship with his father escalates into violence, causing him to have a destructive metal illness. Jeremy's family is well-off, with parents who are both rich and influential business people. Celine Cruz, his mother, and Alfred Cruz, his father, are both workaholics, and so Jeremy is very detached from them. Celine tries her best, requiring much from Jeremy, and resorts to verbal abuse when Jeremy fails to live up to his expectations. Jeremy becomes more frustrated because of this and turns to his friends who influence him to participate in drug abuse and violence. Jeremy and Alfred's relationship falls apart even more when Jeremy begins to think that Alfred is cheating on Celine, and when he remembers and hallucinates Alfred hurting his mother. In the end, this relationship is completely destroyed, and Jeremy, driven by madness, murders his own father. 2014-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11047 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Parricide in motion pictures Documentary films Mentally ill--Family relationships Adolescent psychopathology Communication
