Summary:It is a known fact that lasers are utilized to transport information. The group is focused on verifying that laser, when reflected on a surface of an enclosed area, is a possible medium to pick up audio signals from the said area. A laser is most ideal for this application due to its high frequency and accuracy. An audio source within the enclosed area causes the surrounding materials to vibrate. When the beam of the laser hit certain materials such as glass, aluminum, and others, part of the ray is refracted and part of it reflected. The reflected ray can be focused to a receiver, which transforms the intensity of the ray into electrical signals. The vibrations in the glass cause different intensities of the laser to be focused on the receiver. These variations of the electrical signal can be processed to retrieve back the original sound wave that caused the vibrations in the glass.
