The prototype allows automatic computation of the drop rate (drop/min) based on the inputs accepted from the user. This clamp functions as an on/off controller. The clamp is open in its ON state while it is close in its OFF state. To achieve regulation, the clamp is closed and opened at a rate equal to the computed drop rate. Since the clamp is opened long enough for a drop to occur, the drop rate desired is therefore achieved. The prototype is also capable of producing a nurse alarm in events that need immediate attention. Alarm conditions include the failure to detect any drop, the absence of the plastic tubing, low battery, and bottle near empty. The prototype includes a drop detector, a microswitch, a battery monitor, and a fluid level sensor for these purposes respectively. Motorola assembly language was used in programming the overall control and intelligence of the system. 1994-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11083 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Intravenous therapy Drugs--Administration Injections, Intravenous Computer Sciences |

IVReg is a microcontrolled stand-alone prototype capable of regulating the gravity flow of intravenous fluids.
The prototype allows automatic computation of the drop rate (drop/min) based on the inputs accepted from the user. These inputs include the volume (ml) of the fluid and the consumption time (hr) span.
Drop rate regulation is achieved through the use of an electromagnetic clamp.
