John Grierson, the father of documentary, describes the process as creative treatment of reality. This statement exposes the nature of documentaries, belong both grounded on empirical facts and influenced by individual/collective biases. It is therefore essential to recognize the limitations that could possibly affect the portrayal of what we deem as raw and truthful reality. The television documentary special, Lente, captures the production process of Unlimited Productions (formerly Probe Productions). It specifically depicts the three stages of production and the limitations they encounter, following the episode, Ang Tunay Na Pag-ibig Ni Lolo Jose. Through the perspective of the individuals behind the documentaries of Probe, the reality behind the creative portrayal reality is revealed.
