Summary: | Meralco Services Company (MSERV) was established in June 2000 to provide project based services designed to improve overall energy efficiency of its Customer through their three major services which are Electrical Contractor, Energy Service Provider and Technical Consultant. For the Year 2012 MSERV catered 720 projects overall.
The coverage of the systems study is the business process model of MSERV that consists of 5 major process which are: 1)Creation of Project Proposal 2) Process of Purchase requisition 3) Process of Purchase Order 4) Service Implementation and 5) Billing Process.
The in-depth analysis on the present system revealed that MSERV currently has a problem with the number of over budget completed projects for the year 2012 incurring a net loss of Php 1.9 million. Breaking the completed projects into categories 29/44 Energy Efficiency and 16/66 of Facilities Management are over budget.
Further analysis of the problem lead to the following root cause: 1) No Standard Walkthrough Audit 2) Lack of Project Documentation and 3) Customers Delay the Project Implementation.
Alternatives where created in order to address the root causes and they are 1) Creating Standard Templates for Project Proposal Creation and 2) Integration of Speedbase Professional Software which serve as a centralized system. The implementation of the solution would reduce the total cost by 34%. |
