Summary: | Note-taking and note-making are important academic skills even in the digital age as these allow students to be more active learners. Note Assistant is a multimodal tablet application that provides digital tools to facilitate the process of taking, making and reviewing digital notes. Similar to existing note-taking application, Note Assistant uses different input modalities, including touch, pen and voice. It also provides additional features such as note annotation, sharing and integration, multi-media mapping, note templates, and visual revision history. The application has been tested on various devices including Acer Iconica Tab, Samsung Galaxy Tab & plus, and Motorola Xoom. Results from tests with secondary and tertiary students as participants over a two-week period showed the potential of the application as a technology to support individual and collaborative learning. |
