Description
Summary:One fourth of the power generated by the Philippines is consumed by residential establishments. An average household consumes 946 kWh of power per month. A part of this consumption is power consumed by appliances left open such as lights and air conditioners. To reduce this unwanted power consumption, a system that uses Artificial Intelligence to turn on or off the lights and air conditioners, cools the room temperature and provides adequate lighting in the room efficiently. The system used Code::Blocks with OpenCV library to detect human presence and absence in the room. The system uses KTY-83/110 Silicon Temperature sensors for room and ambient temperature sensing and VTT9812 photodiodes to room and ambient luminosity sensing. Fuzzy Logic artificial intelligence were programmed to the PIC16F877A microcontrollers so that efficient temperature and lighting control was made possible.
