Tadeo, Jeff Allen S. Studies have shown that Filipino around Metro Manila have around 17% level of awareness on Philippine Biodiversity which was considered low by Haribon Foundation as compared to the awareness percentage on air pollution, waste management, deforestation, water pollution, floods, illegal fishing, mining, endangered species and global warming which were at least 90-100% being environmental issues that the Filipino area aware of (Haribon, 2010). Haribon Foundation core advocacy is preserving Philippine Biodiversity, spreading awareness to Filipinos about biodiversity and working with communities. One of Haribon Foundation target audience is the youth, particularly high school students in which they conduct their awareness campaigns. These awareness campaigns are conducted by Haribon Foundation every quarter of the year in schools around the country. The researchers made an awareness video that would visually promote and illustrate the advocacy of Haribon Foundation of protecting biodiversity as well as its vision and mission for easier understanding and a call to action. The video consists of three parts. The first part would be an introduction to biodiversity and the different environmental problems that are eminent at present. The second part of the video introduces Haribon Foundation to the audience, their core advocacy and their current projects. The last part would show the different consequences of deforestation and a call to action in ways in which people can help prevent the total depletion of our natural forests. An informal survey was conducted after it was shown to three high school classes to test the video's effectiveness. The results indicated that the students agrees that the video was able to deliver the video's pupose. 2011-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11395 Bachelor's Theses Filipino Animo Repository Communication |
