Summary: | System of System Engineering (SoSe) is a relatively young field that deals with the integration of various independent or autonomous systems communicating effectively under a larger mother system or SoS to achieve a higher goal or supra purpose. Due to the lack of proper guidelines for implementation, SoSE has not gained popularity in actual practice hence, a mathematical model was developed to bridge this gap. This model is capable of analyzing the various interactions of the subsystem properties such as information, processes, and characteristics, and it determines which much be integrated into the SoS to achieve optimal results. From these results, guidelines for SoSE implementation can be generated particularly for the organization and streamlining of the information, application system, and process resulting from the proposed integration.
A case study regarding the Philippine National Identification System was used to simulate and run the model. Actual constant were used to validate this system, and a proposed database, application system, and process flow was created with the aid of the model. The implementation guidelines created for the case study were used as basis for the concluding general SoSE implementation guidelines. |
