Summary: | Technological advancements pave way to a lot of new discoveries especially in the field of robotics. With these technological advancements, robots are now designed and programmed to a whole new level. Robots are developed to meet the growing demand of the society and to make life easier. Robots are also developed to accomplish dangerous task such as gas monitoring. This study aims to develop an internet-based control mobile robot for methane gas detection and neutralization using Arduino Uno.
The mobile robot is designed to run in either autonomous or manual mode. The autonomous mode of the robot has an obstacle avoidance capability through the use of ultrasonic sensors. The robot can be controlled manually via the internet. The website also shows the amount of methane being detected by the MQ-4 sensor. The robot is also incorporated with a camera that returns real time feedback and can be monitored in a different GUI. If the MQ-4 sensor detects that there is unsafe amount of methane in the area, both LED and buzzers will activate simultaneously. The fan will also activate and will act as a vacuum that will suck the air. The activated carbon is located inside the container on top of the robot, which will absorb the methane that was sucked by the fan. The group used Arduino UNO in incorporating the robots functions. |
