Crisostomo, Jessica Ida Clarisa M. Lincuna, Leoanne Kristine I. Shi, Daiwen The aim of the study is to understand the lived experiences of blue collar overseas Filipino workers through exploring their experiential accounts and narratives of their feelings and reactions. The participants were former blue collar overseas Filipino workers who have worked abroad for at least 7.4 years. The study takes a qualitative approach using a one-on-one interview method and with interpretative phenomenological analysis as a method of analyzing data. Analysis of the transcript revealed that the categories centered on feeling anxious and overwhelmed during first time abroad, feeling grateful for the opportunity to work abroad, feeling the need for fellowship with foreigners and feeling of personal growth as an individual with fourteen themes. Results showed that the lived experiences that participants encountered all served to be learning experiences that constructed their personal growth. 2014-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11425 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Blue collar workers Foreign trade and Employment Foreign workers, Filipino Psychology |
