The computerized embroidery machine is a computer controlled device which stitch characters and shapes. The computer is used to control the devices that are attached to the embroidery machine. The devices that are connected and controlled by the computer are: step motors, DC motor, photodetector, and limit switches. The X and Y movement of the frame are controlled by the step motors. These step motors are controlled by sending pulses to the driving circuit through the computer. The sewing machine is activated by the DC motor. Once a stitch is needed, the DC motor is activated. The photodetector is used to detect the position of the needle. The photodetector is attached at the flywheel of the sewing machine. The photodetector will detect a revolution made by the sewing machine through the flywheel. The limit switch are used to initialize the position of the step motors. By coordinating the different functions of the devices through the software, the desired characters or shapes can be made. Through the software, the user would be able to create, edit and save a design. 1994-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11447 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Sewing machines Machine sewing--Data processing Embroidery, Machine--Data processing Computer Sciences
