Description
Summary:The development of technology is happening very fast along with this, the demand for improving and maintaining quality source of power has also been arising. This paper is intended for companies, businesses, and other industries in need of a continuous and uninterrupted supply of power. With the growing desire of men to integrate intelligence on almost all devices such as smartphones, laptops, smart tablets and other devices using batteries, this thesis introduces a smart system that would mark a leap in the existing power monitoring systems - a monitoring system with its own artificial intelligence, thus reducing the need for manual monitoring of backup power supplies while providing uninterrupted supply of power. This thesis aims to monitor lead-acid battery parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, and charge capacity, as well as integrate charging, automatic switching, and load power demand analyzing to the whole system using PIC16F877A mincrocontroller as the main controller and Visual Basic for the user interface and for the collection of time-stamped data in real time.
