Summary:The group will talk about the emergence of skateboarding in the Philippines through a quantitative and qualitative approach. The proposed study will be about the difference between masculine and feminine gender identity traits of social influence and motivation in Filipino skateboarding. In-depth interviews with six male and six female skateboarders will be examined to note the thematic similarities and differences between the two genders an gather the skateboarders views regarding identity, motivation and social influence. The study hopes to contribute to the knowledge based on adolescence, alternative cultures and the changing dynamics of gender within those sphere.
