Description
Summary:The main objective of our study is to identify and investigate the parking policy in Paco and San Andre, to determine the willingness to pay of the car owners for a parking space, and to propose a better parking policy in the study area. The methods used by the researchers are inventory of existing parking facilities, parking demand, parking time and delay studies, license-plate observations, regression analysis, an cross tabulation. Results show that the car owners in the study areas are willing to pay, and thus, it is possible to have a parking building in the said areas. The average speed varies with the length of the street but the maximum allowable speed for residential areas is 20 Kph. The researchers focused on residential parking. The researchers proposed a parking space within the vicinity of the study area. The researchers hope the proposed parking policies can help the said municipalities have better parking management and these policies can be adopted in other municipalities in the City of Manila.
