Agnes, Madelene P. Narida, Sarina Lei G. The present study examined the relationships of socioeconomic status and affective quality of relationship with parents on idol identification in the Filipino context, using correlation and multiple regression analyses. In total, 200 Filipino adolescents who are members of fan clubs responded to the Celebrity- Persona Identification Scale, Family Affluence Scale II - Adapted and Parental Attachment Questionnaire. Results showed that there is a significant negative correlation between affective quality of relationship and idol identification and that affective quality of relationship and idol identification and that affective quality of relationship is not only a significant predictor of idol identification, but it also significantly moderates the influence of socioeconomic status on idol identification. Overall, the present results suggested that idol identification could be moderated by a good affective quality of relationship with parents even if they are of low socioeconomic status. 2013-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11588 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Celebrities--Social life and customs Fans (Persons)--Psychology Psychology
