Summary: | This descriptive study is about the experience of Disenchantment among Filipino men. It made use of the survey method. The data was gathered with the use of a 24-item questionnaire. The respondents of the study consisted of forty (40) married Filipino men, who are married from one to twenty years. They were selected through chain referral technique. From the results that were analyzed, the researchers found out that marital conflicts cause disenchantment among men. The researchers then found certain signals of disenchantment that would include being less patient, tiredness of settling conflicts, and feeling a loss of interest. The researchers were able to determine the effects of disenchantment on the marital relationship diverting attention towards other things, being pre-occupied with work and children, depriving quality time and not showing their affection to their wife. The researchers found that the most common adjustment among the respondents is just to set the feeling of disenchantment aside. Other adjustments include talking about it and consulting with other people. |
