Description
Summary:This project study aims to design a system capable of providing a means of securing a telephone conversation of two individuals with the aid of computers. The method of encryption and compression of voice in digital form is the main focus. Unlike other projects before that dealt more on building hardware intensive security methods with the aid of computers, we decided to give the problem a different approach. Our idea is to create a program that will run on a personal computer with the help of a modem, microphone and speakers or headphone. Both parties must first have this setup so they can speak freely without fear of another party eavesdropping. It is however a given that delays will be encountered due to bandwidth constraints using an ordinary phone line system and at the same time attempting to achieve full-duplex mode. This will depend on the capability of our program and the processing power of the computer. An encryption algorithm will be used to make the transmitted data secure since encryption is more effective and less likely to be decoded than scrambling methods. Linear Predictive Coding is the method used in compressing data.
