Lua, Michelle A. Mangelen, Zoraya V. This research sought to find out which parental approach is employed by single mothers in dealing with her adolescent children. The parental approaches were classified as authoritative, authoritarian and permissive, and determined by measuring the degree of parental demandingness and responsiveness. The measures were based on standard parenting behavior identified and asked in the semi-structured in-depth interview. Data gathered, which underwent content analysis showed that no single mother used only one particular approach. Most were likely to use a combination of two or three approaches. Another significant finding was that majority of the participants were responsive to the needs of their children. Variable that are believed to have affected the results are the religious beliefs, racial background and past experiences of the mothers. 2000-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11634 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository
