Assumed role adjustments of Filipino widows in midlife

This study focuses on the roles and adjustments made by widowed midlifers and their significant others. The researchers utilized a descriptive method, which is the in-depth interview, to gather data needed for the study. They made use of purposive sampling as the sampling method to gather respondents. Results show that widowed midlifers and their significant others experience changes in the different areas of their lives such as, family, career, and the socio-civic aspect. These changes then initiate certain adjustments among the respondents. These adjustments then pertain to certain roles that they have to assume. There roles include being a financial provider, decision maker, and a socially active individual. These changes also correspond to different adjustments made by the widow's significant others.
