The researchers has compared the mixture of Ordinary Portland Cement with freshwater and Ordinary Portland Cement with saltwater. The saltwater that was used in concrete mixing was taken from Dagupan, Pangasinan, Coastal Cavite, and Cababalu, Batangas which has been collected offshore so that there will be less sand in it. The group also gathered data from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources regarding the salinity of sea water here in the Philippines. These places are Eastern Mindanao, Eastern Samar, Davao Station 1 & 2, Lingayen, and Bicol. In the test for compressive strength of the concrete samples, the Ordinary Portland Cement with saltwater had a faster strength development compared to the Ordinary Portland Cement with freshwater. For the long-term effect, during the 98th day of testing the Ordinary Portland Cement with saltwater had a lower compressive strength compared to the Ordinary Portland Cement with freshwater. In the test for flexure strength of the concrete samples, there was no significant change. The result was very close to each other, but as expected the flexure strength was low as compared to the compressive strength of the concrete samples. 2002-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11686 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository
