De La Paz, Dan Carlo I. Marcos, Edralin A. Olmedo, Ronald Allan This thesis provides experimental data and results on the electromagnetic interference (EMI) levels of personal computers within the DLSU-Manila Campus specifically radiated emissions. The threat in today's electronic environment consisting predominantly of microprocessor-based systems comes from unwanted electromagnetic (EM) signals affecting sensitive electronic equipment. An antenna was used as a sensor for measuring EMI levels. The study focuses on the EMI behavior of personal computers functioning in an actual office and laboratory setting. Testing was done on a system level, which means the computer together with its peripherals is functioning. Today, most computer engineers and manufacturers perform testing and measurement of EMI levels on a per component basis. Previous studies on measuring EMI levels dealt with EMI testing in a controlled environment, such as inside an anechoic chamber or a perfectly screened room. The gathered set of data on this thesis shows the EMI levels of PCs particularly on selected work areas inside the campus. 2000-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11697 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository
