Summary: | Bases on the People's Recover, Empowerment and Development Assistance Foundation website, the Philippines is considered the biggest brothel in Asia in the 80's. Prostitution has always been rampant but remains to be considered taboo by society. It is everywhere but we try to ignore it, a selective behavior that is in line with the religious personality of Filipinos. Prostitution is an injustice to human rights, but in this study, we find a female subject who is willing and has chosen this profession by choice. Clearly, there are more reasons as to why women are driven into this other than poverty or drug dependence.
In this short film, we find a young woman who is beautiful, smart and well-off- not your typical call girl. Roxanne is a model who moonlights as a high class escort. She is an art enthusiast taking up architecture in a post university together with her boyfriend Lucas. She is mysterious, reserved but charismatic. Lucas feels very lucky to have a girlfriend like Roxanne and asks her to take things to the next level. A regular client of hers named Francis also makes an offer that is hard to refuse. She feels trapped from the two men trying to tie her down. She is forced to make a decision. |
