Felix, Trina E. Kapunan, Kyle Ma. Linus C. Casual sex relationships among Filipino adolescents is becoming prevalent. Engaging in casual sex poses threats to the physical, psychological, and emotional aspect of a person. It is important for college students to know the risks in engaging in casual sex. This study examines male and female Filipino college students who engage in casual sex and how engaging in casual sex particularly affects their self-esteem. Field survey and online survey were conducted in gathering data to measure students' tendencies in engaging in casual sex, negative affect, and levels of self-esteem. Regression analysis and moderation analysis were used to analyze the data. Results show that being in a casual sexual relationship positively predicts one's self esteem. However, differences were noted between males and females. Negative affect moderates the relationship between engaging in casual sex and self-esteem among men. However, this was not observed among women. 2013-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11881 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository
