Obiles, Symbelly C. Recasa, Richmon N. Executive Summary. Among the distinguished financial organizations in the country, United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) offers a wide range of products and services to its clients. These comprise of deposit and related services, treasury and money market services, trust services and credit services. UCPB was among the sixth largest private Philippine universal bank as of December 31, 1996. The Bank has two systems operating in organizing and handling various lending activities these are the Central Liability System (CLS) and the Loans Management System (LMS). CLS refers to the client's basic information and the borrowing transactions in the centralized data bank. While, LMS on the other hand handles the actual lending transactions such as loans release, payment, and reversal of the borrower. The lending system process starts with the application of clients, either for a basic loan facility or an omnibus credit line facility. The account officer assigned in this particular account will then prepare a Credit Recommendation and Approval Memorandum (CRAM) for approval. This prepared CRAM shall be passed onto the approving body, and thus clients' terms and conditions are reviewed. Once the CRAM or the applying credit line (which is the facility) was approved, the clients' basic information will be encoded and set up in the CLS and client's lending transactions will be then be monitored in LMS. Likewise, the information includes the credit facility of his loan and other non-critical elements about the client. There are four types of client credit facilities single basic, group basic, single omnibus line, and group omnibus line. Given certain set of conditions, the client records shall be tagged for deletion during the daily batch processing, and eventually be deleted. Occasionally, some records were tagged and deleted even though they should not be. The proposed system centers its capability in addressing this problem to the Client credit facility tagging system for deletion. It comprises of five program modules, as (1) module for setting the status flags of the client, (2) module for single basic facilities, (3) module for group basic facilities, (4) module for single omnibus line facilities, and (5) program for basic omnibus line facilities. Direct specifications were given to the proponents in approaching the problem of the existing system. In addition the proposed system were made from scratch in order not to be biased to the existing program. The proposed system was programmed in a Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL) mainframe environment. Reports were generated to display the summary of the total record tagged during batch processing. The proposed system was also made to answer the other problems identified by the proponents in the existing system. Through these, the proponents were able to use different tools that will provide the Bank a competent tagging system for Central Liability System and Loans Management System. 1999-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11978 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository
