Bonheur Marketing Corporation is a distribution company that buys goods from its principal clients like La Suerte, Kimberly Clark, International Distillers Philippines Inc., First Choice Food Corp. and Eldon Industrial Corp. then sells them to their own clients such as supermarkets, retail stores, groceries, and sari-sari stores. The company only acts as middleman. In this study, the main focus was on the warehouse department. Through the study, it was found out that Bonheur Marketing Corporation was experiencing 0.308% damaged goods of International Distillers for the year 2000. Thus, incurring Php 732,799.15 loss for the company. The presence of damaged goods was mainly caused by two factors. These were the ineffective method of receiving inspection and mishandling of goods. In order to solve the problem, several sets of alternative solutions were generated. After evaluating each alternative, it was surmised that the best solution was to develop warehouse operations manual and instructional aids to guide the workers on the proper inspection and handling procedures. Additional inspector in the receiving area and organization of stocks in the warehouse are also part of the proposal. It was determined that an initial cost of Php 318,090 and a yearly cost of Php 9,080 would be needed to implement the proposal. However, it was established that the benefit the company would gain from this is actually Php 282,513 yearly. The general objective of this study is to limit the percentage-damaged good to 0.20%. With the implementation of the proposed system, the percentage-damaged good was reduced to 0.19%, which satisfies the 0.20% objective. The complete implementation of the proposed solution could be done in 11 weeks. 2002-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/11986 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository
