This study concentrates on the Luboil department of the Pilipinas Shell shown here. Its standing in the industry could also be seen in this paper. A view of how the Luboil department is currently performing and its present status and system is also shown in this paper. The proponents of this study made a system study of the Luboil filling plant particularly in the Serac 1-liter line because this line is experiencing underproduction of 6,840 bottles peer shift.
After extensive gathering of data and interviews the proponents was able to come up with alternatives that would solve the problem. The alternative solutions are purchase a carton erector, hire two workers to erect the cartons, and customized a jig and hire a worker to erect the cartons. A simulation was included in the study to show the effectiveness of the new system.
The proposed solutions that the group recommended to the company is to allow the supplier to provide the company replacement cartons with call numbers together with a revised form. It was also advised that they implement a quality control system on foils. The group also proposes to customize a jig for the erection of cartons.
The net present value for the proposed solution was calculated at P 4,901,144.00 for 5 years.
The proponents of this study recommends that further studies be done to improve their system currently in use. |
