Description
Summary:Executive Summary. Pneumatic Technologies Incorporated was founded by a group of engineers geared towards the distribution of air compressors. Currently, the company handles 3 lines. All parts and units of these air compressors are ordered from suppliers abroad. The Sullair line of air compressors take the bulk of the share of sales and is the only ones stocked. Thus, the study will be focused on the SULLAR PARTS AND SERVICE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT. All activities from the reception of fast moving inventory up to its release will be taken into consideration. The time period for the system's study will be from January 2000-September 2001. Presently the system has four fast moving parts namely the air filter element, lubricant, separator element and fluid filter element. After thorough analysis, it was observed that the inventory management of the system has discrepancies due to the excess in allowable backorders.
