Description
Summary:The current monitoring system being used by the Department of Agriculture (DA) is a manual system which makes data research a tedious task and makes the DA vulnerable to data inaccuracy. Thus, comes the development of the DA Monitoring of Agricultural Crops-Geographic Information System (MACRO-GIS). This system serves as an enhancement of the original system which will help ensure that data needed will be readily accessible to requesting parties and will help in the storing and protection of information regarding rice and corn in Bulacan, from the Municipal level up to the National level. MACRO-GIS provides the user with a visual of the area, in the case of this thesis the pilot area is Bulacan, and will give the user information on the crops in the area. The user will be provided with data that is requiired by the Gintong Ani Grain Production Enhancement Program. The system also allows the user to foresee the extent of damage in Bulacan given the velocity of a typhoon and the stage of growth of the crops in that area. Another option provided by the system is the viewing of the different roads: the North Expressway, the National roads, and the provincial roads."
