Summary: | The Pediatrician's Information Management System (PIMS) is an information management systems solution intended for use in private clinics of pediatricians. The system aims to manage and control the flow of information relevant to the daily operations of the clinic, particularly: patient information, clinic service receipts, patient appointments, Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) information, and the like. The group developed the system with the support and supervision of ASIAN BUSINESS SOLUTIONS, INC., an Information Technology organization engaged in Software Development, system Integration, and Project Management services to the financial sector and other growth industries in the Asian market.
The methodology used by the group in the completion of the project was divided into four top-down phases: Project Initiation, Project Planning, Design, and Development, allowing project progress and outputs to be reviewed and approved in stages by the management, the users, and the thesis adviser of the group. The information needed for the group to effectively simulate the proper information management of items relevant in clinic operations was provided by the two pilot clinics. The group used PowerBuilder 5 as the front-end, SQL Anywhere for the back-end, and PowerDesigner 6 (32-bit) as the CASE tool used for design of the physical data model." |
