Companies create their own private networks by using dedicated leased lines. As they grow, private networks becomes more complicated thus increases the cost and maintenance of leased lines. Instead of using leased lines, a public network known as the Internet is a way to connect private networks by means of the tunneling technology. Tunneling is the process of placing an entire packet within another packet and sending it over a network, which also means that this technology would allow non-IP traffic to traverse over the internet. Since this implementation would be done through the Internet, this would not ensure the security of the data for the reason that the Internet is a public domain. The Secured Multi-protocol Tunnel aims to implement the tunneling technology with an authentication and encryption system so that IP and non-IP traffic can traverse securely over the Internet. 2003-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14223 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Internet Tunneling Technology World Wide Web Technological innovations Computer Sciences
