Summary: | A blue print depicts how an infrastructure would look like. It shows the eleventh, dimensions, area, parameters, etc. Architects use an Automated Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD) to make an accurate layout of the infrastructure. A cut sheet is analogous to a blue print. However, there is no software available yet that will assist a network designer in developing a cut sheet.
The GRAF Cut Sheet Maker is a cut sheet tool. This tool is based on the cabling standards set by TIA, EIA, and ANSI. The designer, indicating the dimensions of the floor and walls, will draw a floor plan. Included in the input would be the different equipment that will be connected into the network such as computers, printers and servers. With this input, the system will be able to come-up with a design that is best suitable for the plan and that is in tune with the different structured cabling design standards.
The system was able to comply with the objectives of this thesis project. It was able to provide a drawing tool as input by the user, it is a proactive system and it uses the ANSI/EIA/TIA-568-B.1 standards in evaluating the floor plan. It also made use of an Inference Engine to house the standards and was able to provide a final floor plan, the Cut Sheet and a Bill of Materials for the designer. |
