Cua, Richard S. German, Bryan Mark V. Uy, Debbie A. The ODIE Video Rental and Sales System is an electronic commerce system that video rental and sales companies can utilize. This system was developed to take advantage of the opportunity that is electronic commerce, and two of the latest technologies, multimedia and object orientation. Currently, there are many e-commerce sites and neighborhood video rental and sales stores, but not a combination of both, that is, an online video rental and sales system. The opportunity that e-commerce brings is addressed by combining both the bricks-and-mortar video rental and sales operation and the technology of e-commerce. Multimedia was used to show the product, while the concepts of object orientation were used in developing the system. The system consists of the business process and the software. The business process starts from the customer's order until the return of the rented item. The software consists of the Ordering and the Maintenance applications. It uses multimedia, object-oriented database management systems, and a two-tier client/server architecture to perform its tasks. An object-oriented methodology, the unified approach, was used by the proponents in conducting the study. 2000-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14239 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Electronic commerce--Computer programs Electronic data processing Electronic data interchange Intelligent agents (Computer software) Video rental services Computer Sciences |
