Ramos, Robert A. Most of the information received by an average person is through vision. Through this reason and advances in the field of computer technology, there is a proliferation of image collections. In addition, several software and hardware simplify conversion of physical images into digital form. The relative ease of use, combined with the affordability of these devices and software products, fuel the creation of enormous picture databases. Manually viewing each one of them surely takes a lot of time, effort, and patience. The vast array of graphic files and their formats makes traditional linear search a hard task. Furthermore, attaching keywords to pictures is too cumbersome and subjective in a large picture database. This project aims to provide a tool that will use image templates as search queries instead of conventional searching using keywords. The project tries to automate searching with use of a visually oriented interface. Lastly, part of the project's goals is to study, select, and use relevant visual information retrieval tools for the system. 2000-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14260 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Image processing--Digital techniques Imaging systems--Technological innovations Image compression Information display systems Computer Sciences |
