Description
Summary:This thesis centers on the hardware implementation of a cryptographic algorithm, specifically the International Data Encryption Algorithm NXT or simply IDEA NXT, capable of automatically encrypting and decrypting data to and from the hard disk. The accuracy and reliability of the system was verified through testing. Simulaltion was done through ModelSim XE II 5.7g and the actual implementation on a V2MB1000 board. The message is written to a hard disk, and then it undergoes encryption. After it has been encrypted it will be read back from the hard disk and undergoes decryption. In order to complete the project, the original message should be retrievable after undergoing the said processes.
