Description
Summary:In a control system, it is important to take into account the control method that will be used in an application especially if it requires precision control and accuracy. There are several control methods which can be applied in the system, and one of the highly recommended methods is the Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) The goal of this pioneering study is to implement the PID controller using the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) platform to control a servo motor. The angular displacement desired specified through the input module must be accurately satisfied. A PID Controller is a widely used industrial control feedback mechanism. It attempts to correct the error between a measured process variable and a desired setpoint by calculating the cost of error and then outputting a corrective action that can adjust the process accordingly. This paper presents the embedded FPGA-PID Controller for low power servo motors. This proposes a control system integrated to operate in an FPGA platform.
