Sioco, Mario Abeljimm C. Sorongon, Marc Stephen C. The number of car theft in the Philippines has increased through the past years. One probable reason is that there is a limitation in the car alarms available today. Most of the cars available in the market today use a remote control that utilizes radio frequency (RF) to send instructions, like lock/unlock doors, to the car. If the driver is too far from his car when a burglar tries to break into his car, and, if unfortunately the place where the driver parked his car is so desolate that none can hear the alarm (siren) except the burglar, then the driver will never know what is happening to his car until he eventually comes close to it. This thesis group has developed a system that can send SMS to the owner of the car when the car alarm is triggered and that can also respond to specific commands sent from the user's cellular phone. It also displays the last 5 events (only thos that are recognizable to the system, like window broken, car moving, door opened forcibly, alarm activated/deactivated, over speed limit) that happened to the car using an LCD module called Qterm. The system can also reply to the owner when he sends a query regarding the status of the engine whether it is on or off, the approximate number of people sitting, the status of the door locks whether they are locked or unlocked. 2007-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14303 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Automobiles--Security measures Automobiles-- Safety appliances Engineering
