Summary: | Nowadays, there are different ways for people to communicate through the internet. Social Networking websites allow people to interact with each other and share information in an asynchronous manner. Virtual Worlds on the other hand, are persistent worlds that allow users to interact through avatars. These can come in the forms of a Massively Multiplayer Online RPG (MMORPG), where people can engage in fantasy and adopt the role of characters and play with each other inside the virtual world. Thus, integrating the non-immersive features of social networking sites into the immersive features of MMORPG’s address the time consuming problem and eventually the expanding the user base of MMORPG’s. The key focus of the research is coming with a design integrating immersive and non-immersive elements in an online game. |
