Clemente, Kevin T. Olegario, OJ Ryan P. Air Pollution is an ever-present problem in the world today. As cities develop their economic and technological statures, industries and production facilities struggle to keep up with the exponential boom. Where there used to be farmlands, there are now factories. Where fertile land once stood, there are now superhighways filled to the brim with motor vehicles. As it is with everything, there are adverse effects to this continuous expansion. The world now suffers the risk of hazardous air. The home is especially prone to airborne particulates and harmful gases resulting to pollution that cause illness and disease to its inhabitants. The home is also susceptible to accidents such as asphyxiatio and carbon monoxide poisoning. The implementation of a small-scale indoor air quality monitoring system for the home is a viable solution to inhibit the spread of household diseases, prevent related household accidents, and keep the home's air quality within standards. The researchers' proposed system consists of three main parts, the sensor array, the CPU and the exhaust and intake fans. The sensors will detect the gases present in the environment and will create an output voltage proportional to the concentration of the gases. The output voltage is then converted by the ADC present in the PCI Interface card. It is then sent to the computer to be processed and displayed. The software will then then process this data accordingly, measure the voltage and then compare it with a set of voltage concentration ratio data, which is then displayed in the monitor. The exhaust system will be activated once the gas levels are beyond the tolerable limit. The exhaust system will be connected to the computer as well and shall be activated and deactivated depending on the gas levels being detected by the sensor array. 2008-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14462 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Indoor air pollution Air--Purification |
