Description
Summary:Paint is used to contribute to aesthetics and to the protection, preservation, and decoration of any surface. However, paint poses a risk on the health of the user. People who do painting jobs are most susceptible to hazards posed by paint. Because of this concern, the group decided to automate the painting job by utilizing a mobile robot. The mobile robot is implemented using fuzzy logic and line tracking as the navigation techniques. The mobile robot is constructed using a Zilog microcontroller, DC motors, optical encoders, line sensors and a painting mechanism. The mobot painter paints the shapes for a typical basketball court. This was chosen because it contains the basic shapes namely rectangle, circle, and arc. Fuzzy Logic Control was utilized to improve the navigation of the mobile robot. It controlled the PWM output of the microcontroller and the selected motor control system. In this way, errors occurred at the motor inputs were minimized.
