Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR has been defined by Davis and Blomstrom (as cited Carroll, 1996) as, ... the obligation of decision makers to take actions which protect and improve the welfare of society as a whole along with their own interests. The concept of CSR is relatively new. The term was coined during the 1960s. However, even before CSR had been coined, the acts related to it have always existed. Since the concept is relatively new, some companies do not know what CSR is. Due to this, this study has been made. The study focuses on and describe the different CSR practices of manufacturing firms located in Metro Manila that are listed in the top 1000 corporations in the Philippines. The study aims to know how many of the corporations adhere to the various CSR-related programs and activities were also presented in the study which includes their targeted stakeholders, budget for CSR activities, issues addressed by their CSR activities, instigators of their CSR, the person who handles their CSR activities, and the CSR activities of the firms. Finally, the study presents the different CSR drivers or motivators for the implementation of CSR among the firms and also the barriers to such. 2009-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14483 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Social responsibility of business--Philippines--Metro Manila Manufacturing industries--Philippines--Metro Manila Corporations--Philippines--Metro Manila"
