Description
Summary:With the rapid advancement of technology and education companies today have become more competitive than ever. So in order for a company to succeed and survive it must change with the times because changing will help them stay at par with competitors or get ahead of them. The problem is that if change is mismanaged it will bring more harm than good to the company. Fruit Magic Incorporated initially experienced problems with managing change but now they manage change very well. This study focused on how Fruit Magic Incorporated successfully undertakes change management. It aimed to help other companies by providing them empirical information that they may be able to use as a basis for their change management. The study also found factors that are important to the process of change which are the phases, resistance, barriers, drivers, motivators, and approaches. Using the case study approach, the group conducted interviews with different executives and did a survey with the sales crew. The researchers also provided an operational framework based on Kurt Lewin's change model and force field diagram. This was used to determine the company's change management process, drivers, resistors, and strategies. The group found that management approach a company uses is a crucial factor when managing change. Fruit Magic used communication, participation and top management support. The results of the interview and the survey complimented each other which helped establish the fact that there was a good line of communication between management and employees. The researchers recommend that future studies be made in more specific areas such as cultural change, organizational change, technological change, etc. Future studies can find similarities and differences among the specific areas and from there find how to best handle each type of change.
