Uy, Natalie T. The study deals with the design and fabrication of a machine that automates both filling and capping processes in packaging Lubtech Corporation's 2T-Ultra Gold Oil 200ml bottles. The automation of these processes will increase the productivity of the company and lessen the rejects as compared to the current manual system. There are a number of automated oil-filling and bottle capping machines in the market but are too expensive for small companies such as Lubtech Corporation. Currently, market potential in Davao is great as this area is yet to be tapped by the major oil companies Shell, Caltex, and Petron, and motorists are more price-sensitive than brand-conscious. The company foresees increased volume in the next quarters. The fabricated machine effectively automates both filling and capping processes will help Lubtech to meet the forecasted demand. The thesis uses a time-study of the manual packaging system of the company to determine the bottlenecks in the current system that affects its productivity and efficiency. Experimentations were done to finalize the mechanical design. An electrical panel was designed to control the timing and sequence of the mechanical components. Further experiments were done to determine the settings of the programmable logic controller found in the electrical panel. Experiments done show that that machine has a filling and capping success rate of 100 percent. It reduced presence stains in the mouth of the bottles from 50 to 10 percent of the total production. It can pack a total of 963 bottles per day. 2004-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14545 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Bottling machinery Service stations Packaging machinery Packaging--Design
