Description
Summary:This study is a test of one's creativity and understanding of mechatronics. The Automated Acrylic Plastic Cutting Machine is a perfect example of the integration of mechanical, electronics and software. The group designed and fabricated a Cartesian robot that can cut letters from acrylic plastic without the use of a template. The program controls the movement of the cutting tool and the stepper motors. Three stepper motors are able to make the lead screws move to make the x, y, and z movements of the machine possible. An AC motor is the one responsible for the rotational movement of the cutting tool. The driver circuits are composed of binary counters, decoders and OR gates. The driver circuits are responsible for the decoding of signals from the program. The program contains two important source files, ACutterDoc.cpp and InitMotorDlg.cpp. Inside the source file ACutterDoc.cpp is the program for reading a file that was opened. The program will read all Entities in that file. Inside InitMotorDlg.cpp are program for the dialog box. InitMotorDlg.cpp is used for initialization. Through careful planning and extreme hard work, this project had achieved all the said objectives.
